FAQ

How do I make a datapack?
Our server makes it super easy! When you are in your world, type /code. Copy the password in chat, follow the link, and paste the password.

You will have access to a fully set up file structure! There is sadly no great getting started tutorial for modern versions (yet), but people on the server and the Minecraft Commands community are happy to help!
Why do you guys make games with datapacks instead of plugins?
Datapacks are more accessible and lightweight than plugins or mods, and it is far safer to host datapacks made by anonymous people on the internet than plugins. They are also a fun challenge!
How do I download my datapack?
Open the datapack editor in a Chromium browser (Chrome and Edge both work). Sadly, Firefox does not support this currently.

Right click on your datapack on the left of the browser window. There will be an option to download the selected folder.
How do I download my world?
The server does not currently support world downloading, but you are free to use a mod like Litematica to download your world.
How do I upload a resource pack to my world?
Resource packs must be uploaded to mc-packs.net, and set in a world with the /resourcepack command.

For moderation reasons, you must have Apprentice Moose or higher to upload a resource pack to the server.
What custom functionality does legitimoose.com have?
Full Moose rank gives you access to:
  • /inventory: a way to force players to open inventory GUIs.
  • /playerlist: a way to display text on the player list.
  • /data on players: you can edit player data like Motion, health, abilities, etc.
How do I use MiniMessage?
You can find MiniMessage documentation here.

You can use MiniMessage formatting in world titles with AM rank or higher, and in chat with FM rank!
My world closed, but it says people are in it and I can't join.
Your world is stuck! This is probably because of malformed code in certain parts of your datapack or a crash from using too many resources.

Try running /stopinstance <world-uuid> to close it, and then /safemode <world-uuid> to start the world with all datapacks and command blocks disabled to see if you can fix it. If it's still stuck, make a ticket in #stuck-worlds on the Discord, and ping @Minecraft Mod.
